Are you sure you’re registered to vote?

The municipal and school board election is coming up on October 22, but now is the time to make sure that you are on the voters’ list. As your Catholic School Board candidate for Ward 12 & 13 and having considerable experience as a Deputy Returning Officer for several past municipal elections and by-elections, I want to make sure your voting experience is as positive and efficient as possible.

The voter lists for municipal and school board elections in Ontario are managed by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC).  MPAC says, “it is the responsibility of every elector to make sure their information is up-to-date” and accurate.

Take the time to check if you are on the voters’ list by visiting or call 1-866-296-6722.  On the MPAC Website, you can:

  • confirm or update your electoral information;
  • add an elector name to an address; and,
  • change school support.

Please make sure your school support is registered correctly.  If you are a supporter of the Catholic School Board, your school support on the voters’ list should read “English Separate school board.”

Did you know?

  • Changes made to the voters’ list for the June Provincial election are not reflected in the voters’ list for the October municipal election. Changes to the municipal voters’ list must be made through MPAC or through the City Clerk.
  • The default for school support is to “English Public school board.”  That means when you move into a new municipality and your children attend a Catholic school, you must change your school support on your voter registration information to “English Separate school board” if you wish to support the Catholic school system in your community.
